CONFIRMATION Premiered Chance Theater 2001
(2nd Prize South Carolina National Playwright Award, finalist Pittsburgh International Play Contest)

CROSSING | THE LINE  (chosen Albany Civic and El Camino Real Playwrights' Festivals)

An unhappy woman -- separated by taboo from her psychiatrist -- pierces the doctor's professional armor and falls in love with a hidden self she discovers in his out-of-print book of poetry dedicated  ... "To Phaedra."

Despite warnings that her therapy has once again become a seductive dance, patient and doctor chasse ever closer to the taboo line until -- in the no-man's land which had separated them -- both learn that doctors are also patients, that patients can be doctors, and that the touch of either can both heal and harm.

Snatching at a brass-ring promotion, Abel is thwarted by a Bulloni psychiatrist who knows that Industrial Age dinosaurs like Abel could spoil Bulloni's fractured plans for the future. When Christmas ends with yet another pink slip, Abel risks all on a daybreak idea -- a loony, happiness-sharing scheme that lands him in a mental hospital on New Year's Eve.

Design
Having lost all, a good doctor lies dying in a Laguna Beach hospice while three visitors -- absolving God of blame -- insist that Man brings misery on himself.  Knitting a modern moral context for the ancient problem of evil, DESIGN reweaves the Biblical story of Job with a startling twist when the Doctor confronts God to prove that God's actions can rightfully be judged in human terms!
